Sandringham Sabres are pleased to announce the signing of their second American, Anthony Odunsi. From Houston, Odunsi is a big guard who can play multiple positions. He played his final two years of College at Houston Baptist after red-shirting a season at Albany due to injury.
Head Coach Simon Giovannoni is looking forward to integrating Odunsi into his line-up. “Anthony is a big guard. He can play 3 positions which will give us some versatility and some size in the back-court. We think he compliments our line-up well with his skill-set.
Out of College, Odunsi was drafted in the 5th round of the G League Draft. He has played professionally in Iceland (Reykjavik) and France (Caen) and has also represented Nigeria internationally.
“I’m looking forward to getting out there and getting amongst it.”
Odunsi is also looking forward to working with the younger up and coming generation of the Sabres community. “I enjoy player development, it’s a hobby of mine and I am truly excited and grateful for the opportunity.”
Asked what he was most looking forward to about experiencing Australian culture, Odunsi replied, “The first thing that pops into my mind when I think of Australia is sunny weather and happy people. And that is a recipe for a long life!”
