Expression of Interest

The SBA Board has approved the formation of a working party reporting to the SBA Board Facilities and Infrastructure Sub Committee to oversee the actions SBA need to address for the delivery of the new courts at Sandringham Leisure Centre. The working party will be lead by Paul Dear (SBA Director) and Peter Ryan (SBA President).  We are seeking 4 additional people to to join the working party.

The working party is looking for people to be involved in and oversee the following activities:

  • Business Case – working closely with the CEO and Treasurer in responsibility for the development and ongoing management of the SBA Business Case to demonstrate that the SBA is able to meet its funding obligations for the new courts.
  • Planning and Needs Assessment – work closely with all parties to ensure stakeholder needs are reflected in the project scope. Moving forward the working group will become the central point of contact for the SBA for all interaction during Town Planning and other statutory processes.
  • Construction – provide commercial construction knowledge and input during the Concept Design, Detail Design and Construction Phase of the project. Working closely with the CEO to ensure the project has minimal impact of the existing basketball programs.
  • Fund Raising – the SBA will need to make a considerable cash contribution to the cost of the new courts. Responsibility for the development and oversight of SBA fund raising programs will be key to the success of this project.

We are looking for working party members to commit for the full term of the project, due for delivery in October 2020.  Working party members must be prepared to commit to regular internal and external meetings and activities outside normal business hours.

If you have professional skills, qualifications or capability in any of the areas outlined above and would like to be part of an exciting community based project we want to hear from you.
