Appointment of Interim CEO
The Board has commenced an extensive search for a new CEO. This will be managed by an external executive search firm. We expect the process to take up to 3 months.
It is important that whilst this search is underway we maintain continuity in our operations. It needs to be ‘business as usual’ at the SBA. To support this, the Board has agreed to appoint an interim CEO to oversee the operation and assume the delegations required by our Board Charter.
I am pleased to announce that Craig Weir has been appointed to the role of Interim CEO.
Craig may be well known to many of you. He is a former Sabres player and a parent of 2 boys who play in the u12 and u16 domestic and rep competitions. Craig is currently the 16.3 Sabres Boys Coach. In a previous life Craig held General Management positions in Australia and overseas with large organisations such as Debden, Corporate Express and Bullivants. When Bullivants was sold to WesFarmers Industrial Craig stayed on in an Executive role eventually deciding to leave the company in 2016. During his career Craig has been accountable for significant profit centres and managed large teams of people across Australia and overseas. Craig is now semi-retired, devoting much of his time to his boys, basketball and other sports. He is well qualified and positioned to take on this interim role.
Craig commenced on 11th January 2018. Please join me in welcoming Craig to this role.
