The Sandringham Sabres would like to announce the signing of import 4 man Octavius Brown for the upcoming SEABL season.
Brown played one season in Basel, Switzerland after playing 3 years at Alcorn State in the Southwestern Athletic Conference where he averaged 14 points and 7 rebounds per game.
Head Coach Simon Giovannoni is happy with the signing. “Octavius is a smooth jump shooter and can really stretch defenses with his range. He is mobile and fits our system perfectly. We’re looking forward to getting him down to Australia to see what he can do.”
Brown is equally excited about coming down under. “I’m looking forward to winning games for the team and growing both professional and personally. I’ve spent the off-season training and getting better in certain areas.”
He’s also excited about experiencing some Australian culture and mixing experiencing some of the local wildlife. “When I think of Australia, I think of great culture and history, wonderful and accommodating people, good food, and of course kangaroos. I’m looking forward to hopefully meeting a koala as well.”
Brown joins local signings Igor Hadziomerovic, Nathan Crosswell, Alastair MacDonald and Jamie Batish.
The Sandringham Sabres SEABL Men begin their 2018 season on Saturday the 7th of April against SEABL newcomers Diamond Valley Eages. Tip-off is at 7.00pm.
