Katie Bugden dominated with 31 points from 21 field goal attempts. Monique Lyth provided 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
“We only had 8 players against Eltham but a 22-5 opening quarter was enough for us to get the job done,” head coach, Joanne Wood said. “We were outscored throughout the remaining three quarters but given we had limited players the girls did enough to get the win and cement first place in our pool and a home final.”
“Our Sunday game against Diamond Valley started off as high scoring affair as we took a one-point margin into quarter time. We locked down defensively in the second quarter to keep them to eight points while recording 15 of our own to take an eight point lead into halftime.”
“We managed to share the load a lot more in the second half as Monique Lyth lit it up from the three-point line. Everyone got on the scoreboard and played some great defence to contribute to a 30-point win.”
